Sculpture Process
I carve my 3-dimensional sculpture into a plaster relief based on a 2-dimensional picture of an ancient piece of art. When the carving is complete, I create a polyurethane rubber mold by applying layer after layer of liquid rubber to the carving. I have created special formulas of my synthetic rock that mimic different natural rock types. This synthetic rock is poured into a mold to create replicas of my original carvings.
